4th Viet Nam Natural Capital Platform Meeting

Ha Noi, Viet Nam 16th March 2017

Led by the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment, Viet Nam’s Natural Capital Platform aims to integrate natural capital considerations into development planning.

Specifically it aims to enhance capacity to assess, value, and account for natural capital; facilitate knowledge exchange; and inform policy and development planning. Key stakeholders include government representatives of from multiple ministries, research institutes and universities, NGOs, and development partners including UNDP, GIZ, and ADB.

The platform members recently agreed to develop a website and social media network to share natural capital knowledge and information, and an introductory training module on natural capital.

This 4th meeting took stock of progress on these communication and knowledge initiatives and discussed next steps. They also discussed stakeholder mapping exercises and preparations for a proposed natural capital research symposium.
